Indication:

1. Reduces the rate of Cardiovascular Death, Myocardial Infarction & Stroke in patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

1. A useful option for the prevention of thrombotic CV events in ACS patients managed invasively or noninvasively

1. Provides faster, greater, and more consistent P2Y12 inhibition than clopidogrel

1. More rapid onset of action than clopidogrel

1. More effective than clopidogrel in reducing the incidence of the primary composite endpoint of myocardial infarction, stroke, or cardiovascular (CV) death

1. Well tolerated and was not associated with an increased risk of major bleeding relative to Clopidogrel

DOSAGE: as Prescribed by Physician or

For ACS management - Initiate treatment with a 180mg loading dose, 90mg twice daily during the first year after an ACS event and after one year administer 60mg twice daily Use with a daily maintenance dose of aspirin of 75-100mg.

Do not administer with another oral P2Y12 platelet inhibitor
